London And Todays Times

Since the Con-dems have been in power London has been getting very expensive. Ive cut back on going out as much as before. Long gone are the days of going out for a drink on the weekends with work friends. I cant believe how much alcohol was wasted down the drain, I have no regrets as 5 years ago was the boom era and I enjoyed every minute of it; there was no spending cuts then only was simply spending and holidaying 3 times a year. So is clothes shopping, I have to walk past the lovely clothes in the shop windows that entice you to buy buy buy and even make it easier by slashing their prices. Unless I really need it I do not buy the product, I actually feel like my grand mother who watches her penny rationing like it was the war days. I am also proud of myself that I have not gone mad with all this budget cutting, I remember once upon a time when I thought if I didnt go shopping to buy a new outfit every month or go out partying, life would be depressing. Well guess what its not and Im ok, I guess as every one has also tightened their strings its not so bad, nor is it embarassing to go shopping in the reduced food section or buying no frills grocery. Theres a fight to see who can get the best items first. Yes those posh middle class white people no longer snigger at your food basket if they see a bright yellow reduced sticker on it, infact people think your smart; why should you buy full priced items when the food is going to leave your system anyway.
Then theres the high cost of transport I now walk to work I make it sound like Im being healthy by walking but really I just want to save money on transport, my legs are actually my transport and they walk like a machine. Every day I power walk to and from work thump thump as I go along. Tourists getting in my way as I swish past them. I even see a lot more black people on that barclays rent a bike, its no longer sad to ride them. Although I refuse to ride those bikes I dont care how many times Boris Johnson goes on about them.
So what do I do for entertainment now that every thing is so darn expensive in London. Well when I walk along I notice the architecture things I never bothered lookin you know there really is some nice buildings in London! I appreciate public parks more, I go there so I can get a whiff of some fresh oxygen air and admire how the lawn is well cut and bouncy to sit on. Then I just stare at tourists and old people who sit on the benches.

My attitude to work has also changed thanks to London being expensive, I actually look forward to going to work as its a form of entertainment and socialing. My colleagues are more like my friends now as I see them more than my friends, I no longer visit my friends who want to party or they themselves have disappeared due to lack of funds. So yes the credit crunch or inflation has affected Londoners life dramatically.  I have also become a lot closer to my family when all your friends have gone, all you have close are your family. I call my parents every day and talk about my day and I always answer their phonecalls. I only feel sorry for people who do not live with their partners or have a girlfriend or boyfriend because they must be so bored. I mean what do they do? at least if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend you can watch films together cook, irritate each other when theres nothing to do. I suppose those people would have to go out so they do not feel lonely and todays times mean going out = more money to be spent.

Charities in every field now historian charities

A British charity called the Ethiopian Heritage Fund goes around Ethiopia restoring old paintings. Their view of restoring old paintings is by cleaning up the paintings and changing the paintings. They say they are preserving the ancient Ethiopian texts because somehow the priests do not do a good job of looking after the bibles and paintings, so the the experts must come and do a bit of a face lift with them you know make the paintings of the bible characters appear more European looking. They give the saints and martyrs softer features not the asymmetric sharp features associated with Ethiopian bible paintings. As well as giving the characters rosy cheeks as if they have been slapped on the faces. I find it quite shocking that one, the Ethiopian government cannot see the damage this charity is doing and two their true intentions of changing history. Lets be honest now we live in a racist society all these charities that operate in Africa are there to give Africa and black people a bad name as if they are helpless people with nothing to do but beg. Whilst at the same time make lots of money off them. Now there is also a charity set up to steal historical artifacts tamper with any good thing that comes out of Africa as if to make it look like the paintings were painted with white people in mind. Most Ethiopian and Nubian early Christians painted Madonna and child as black or dark brown not middle eastern or blond how people think they ought to look now. Back then they were black and are black that's before this charity decided to go around the churches in Ethiopia "restoring" the paintings and white washing them.
I have one word for the Ethiopian government not all charities are nice, sorry I take it back most charities are not good especially this sneaky little charity trying to change our history right under our noses. It not only effects the Ethiopians but black history in general its being demoted and changed to make it it feel like it didn't exist. Why cant they leave the paintings alone, Africans are quite capable of looking after their own historical  artifacts without the outside intervention of foreign overgrown haired old archaeologists with crap intentions.
The more people realise these charities have bad intentions the more people will look at the things they do which is messed up.

The rise of the Pentecostals

I’ve noticed a rise in the Pentecostals everywhere you go, you see these smug grinning people who wear suits and brag about how free they are and how god saved them before they were lost now they found themselves. I am a Christian an Orthodox Christian now they may be a little dated and have not embraced modern technology yet to throw themselves at people at how wonderful being a Christian is but why should they? Their religion started when Jesus went up to heaven and his apostles travelled around Greece and the Middle East and Nubia to spread the world of the gospel. It continued since then and has plenty of followers in Greece, Egypt, Russia and Ethiopia. The reason why I love being an orthodox Christian is it is a historically correct form of Christianity that has not been edited and altered to serve another purpose. The Pentecostal religion was born to make people into workers who slaved away and gave all their money to the church. It did kick start the industrial revolution, most governments in Western Europe loved the economic aspects of the religion and encouraged it. It cannot be seen as a proper religion as no religion should mix with business that’s just a phony attempt to con people with their money. It has generated a lot of money they even preach how wealth is a sign of prosperity that God would admire which is completely un Christian and false. These people go to the church screaming and jumping up and down and describe it as speaking in tongues! Going to these churches is no different to going to a nightclub must you dance and shout and scream to speak to God? How very unclassy and shameful. Another thing about Pentecostals I cannot stand is how conceited and arrogant they all are and look down at everyone who doesn’t wear a suit to church and screams at the top of their lungs at services. God is the one that judges all of us on judgment day who are these people to judge us because we are not part of their multi million dollars organization.


Another emphasis I cannot stand about Pentecostals is their hate for Mary Mother of Christ they disregard her as a no body. She is Jesus Christ's mother, how would Jesus feel about the way they view his own mother? Mary is an important figure in Christianity you cannot speak ill of her which they do so upfront and its so wrong.

Ethiopia and its gift of the Nile

Egypt is threatening Ethiopia with war if they use the Nile under a new agreement reached with the Nile basin countries. The countries around the Nile basin include Kenya, Tanzania Burundi, Rwanda, DRC and Ethiopia who all jointly agreed on using the Nile for irrigation under a new treaty.

According to Egypt, Ethiopia would be breaking the 1959 Treaty. That treaty is the continuation of the Nile water agreement of 1929 – brokered by the British when they were the colonial power. Egypt was guaranteed 48bn cubic meters of water. Following the 1959 deal, which did little more than reaffirm Egypt and Sudan's right to a majority of the Nile; this was increased to 55.5bn cubic meters, while Sudan is allotted 14.5bn cubic meters.

Egypt and Ethiopia share a long history of wars from ancient to the time Egypt was occupied by the Greeks, Turks followed by the Arabs. Our present similarity may have watered in modern times, however the river Blue Nile from Ethiopia following has not changed. The ancient Egyptians called present day Ethiopia the land of the Gods, as they depended on the water and silt Ethiopia gave them. They even had an ancient measuring device along the river banks to measure the height of the river and the silt levels.

Ethiopia throughout the years defended its territories from ancient invaders and colonial invaders to Arabs. Ethiopia was delayed with modernizing in the 20th century due to two world wars and in the 80’s had to deal with a civil war and an attack from Somalia as well as famine.

While the world was concerned with providing food aid to Ethiopia no one gave them the solution to be self sufficient and use their resources. Ethiopia’s image was blown up as a poor country locked in a time zone; no one acknowledged the gift of the majority of the Nile it gave to Egypt. Egypt was associated with the Nile exclusively as if it flowed upstream from the air and made use of it by themselves.

During the cold war, there where systematic political games being played on Ethiopia by foreign powers for their own purposes. Egypt supported any of Ethiopia’s political enemies and terrorists to cause instability in the country to continue using the Nile in peace. Now there is peace in Ethiopia, it is very worried so is trying to cause further chaos and instability; by encouraging separatism and ethnic tension amongst the tribes.

Thanks to the Chinese who have remained neutral, have agreed to help fund Ethiopia with the building of the dam on the Nile basin; when Western bank lenders refused Ethiopia like a parent refuses his child for candy. The only thing that is stopping the construction now is Egypt and the Northern administration of Sudan threatening war.

My question is what right has Egypt got to try and get the upper hand and say the colonial treaty signed in 1929 must be upheld in 2010? How does Egypt explain such a selfish attitude of threatening war on a developing country that just got out of a drought and threaten to cut aid for the other countries that depend on aid from Egypt? The fact of the matter is, these African countries rich in resources such minerals and fertile lands but poor due to civil wars want to be self sufficient and use their resources. Why do foreigners get uneasy when African resources are used by their own people? Is there a law that sates diamonds can be mined by black people but must given to the Lebanese, Belgian or French company? Oil must only go through Arab countries and owned by European companies like BP who are happy to help the community by building one water tap.

Rivers that pass through African countries cannot be used by black African countries. Newly independent African countries had been brain washed by their former colonial powers so much they accepted the unjust treaties put in place to make generations of Africans poor and dependant on food aid. As soon as a couple of African countries rally and demand to use their God given recourses, they get bullied with war threats with the backing of rogue states. Will Egypt defend the 1929 treaty to USA?

Barack Obama who is half Kenyan wrote in his book ‘Dreams of my father’ about his grandfather’s struggle against colonialism and being imprisoned for believing in freedom. I doubt Barack Obama will defend a colonial treaty that did not involve a free Kenya and other Nile basin countries. How about the African Americans or ‘Afrocentrics’ described by critics, who are having an increased interest in the motherland. Rastafarism is a growing trend which sees Ethiopia as Zion against Babylon. Other groups will have a say such as the Hebrew Israelites and the Kemets who follow the ancient religion of Egypt and believe the ancient Egyptians were black like the rest of the African countries.

The black Egyptians called Abbay’s the name of Ethiopia’s blue Nile waterfall are marginalized and have lost their land and are treated like second class citizens by the majority Arabs Egyptian.

Egypt has always denied they are African but do not mind using African resources. In times of trouble they would rather side with their Arabian relatives than side with their African slaves neighbors. This exploitation and inconsiderate use of resources must stop, Africa had been suffering from the after effects of slavery and colonization for too long. This treaty established in 1929 is a relic of the past era and its up to African countries collectively to rip it up and demand change.

Negative views of Ethiopia and Ethiopian people by the media

As a second generation Ethiopian citizen who lives in Europe I am astonished by the negative articles on Ethiopia. If you Google Ethiopian children you will get a list of websites dedicated to the saving and feeding of Ethiopian children. Then you will get 20 pages full of my new Ethiopian child I adopted or how to comb your Ethiopian orphan’s hair? You then google Ethiopian women and you get lots of articles on Ethiopian women being raped in arab countries and committing suicide. Now I know that there is an element of truth to it but it is as if the negative stereotype of Ethiopia and Ethiopians is blown out of proportion. Every body has something to say about Ethiopia but the Ethiopians never have a say why is that? Ethiopian people are generally conservative closed people who do not let foreigners in their circle, so I think the mystery of them makes a lot of people assume things about them. We as Ethiopian people must fight back at their ridicules exaggeration that all Ethiopians were starving at one point in their lives or are all victims of child brides. People just give their opinion on cultural practices without seeing it from an objective view. I don’t condone child brides but most of the people in the countryside have been living that kind of way since biblical times, people cannot expect them to change overnight.


Ethiopia was late to modernize due to centuries of wars on several fronts. Why can’t people allow Ethiopia to modernize in its own time without constant scrutinies from modern countries who watch write countless degrading shameful negative articles? Everybody seems to want to save Ethiopia from all sorts of famine if there happens to be no famine then they create the image of a famine so people could donate to their nonprofit organization. It seems that if there is a positive article written about Ethiopia the NGO and charities rally and dismiss it by bringing a negative article to light. These organizations cannot promote any positive views of Ethiopia as they know that Ethiopia will get tourists and then no longer need no more aid and handouts which the charities are very happy to handle as it means they also get paid large sums of money to. The charities create negative bad stories on Ethiopia to continue to get large donations from unsuspecting donors who think Ethiopia is a pit of hell riddled with disease and poverty and children who want to be adopted.

This couldn’t be far from the truth, Ethiopians are patriotic people who love their country and are working hard to shake off the hunger label attached to their country. Ethiopians are excelling in setting up businesses abroad with the intention of going back to their country to re-build. Ethiopians pay a big attention to their families and fathers play a big role in families. The women are independent and strive for a better life which is why they emigrate to countries study or work for a couple of years and save enough money to set up their own business in Ethiopia.



Instead the media views these women going to Arab countries as helpless women trafficked to work as slaves and prostitutes. It’s very easy to stigmatize women and call them prostitutes, especially if they are black but to call a whole race a prostitute is quite shocking and racist and must be challenged. These women seek their fortune abroad like every other immigrant in history for a better life, most economic migrants have always been men but when they see women economic migrants they assume the worst and call them prostitutes. I am not denying there is no prostitution, prostitution exists in all societies but you cannot call a whole sector of immigrants’ prostitutes.



I think people should challenge stereotypes and views that are written about certain members of the community, as people write such assumptions because those people who it is written about do not have the guts or resources to make a stand against such views. This is why certain people drill it into peoples head that Ethiopia is poor the people are poor a million times, at least we need to give people something new and interesting to read about and challenge this dated stereotype.

One Female Black Singer At A Time Please We Are British!

I am shocked and concerned at the lack of black female singers in the UK at the moment. There are so many talented singers in the UK but they are not given any chance by the record industry because they dont fit the stereotype. The ones that are allowed to release records are mixed raced singers who dont speak oftern such as Leona and Corrine who are timid creatures with no backbone that dont pose a threat to mainstream white British media. Now come on now how can anyone consider Leonna Lewis black she has an essex accent looks like she crys every 5 minutes and instead of lashing out at that crazed fan who punched her she started screaming. A real black woman would have got up picked up her stilletos and started beating the so called 'fan'. Going back to my point one singer Alexandra Burke was given the priveledge of a record deal thanks to the Xfactor.The girl is very talented and her not winning or being passed through the next round at Xfactor would  have caused race riots as her talents speaks for itslef and she is pretty. You can see the judges knew how talented she was, but were not happy about a black girl from the hood getting all that fame and attention. The British music industry is closed industry as in they want to control who goes to number one who succeeds hence why there is so much crap in the radio. Due to the recession the industry had to listen to supply and demand and sign the grime artists that they so hated and tried to ruin their livelihoods, by banning any of their live concerts using the police. What has happned now is these grime artists are getting richer as they write and produce their own songs so most of the profits go to these inner city grime artists which must really annoy the record labels. Alexandra burke is representing for the the black female in the UK who are sick and tierd of seeing Jordan and cheryly cole on the magazines. Alex is not very much liked by the media they often write about her private life such as who she is dating how poor she used to be this is due to the lack of succesful black female singers in the UK, in order to be succeful you must not have an opinion be a doormat and must follow the crowd. Estelle who is doing very well in America often talks about her struggles in the UK how record bosses wanted to change everything about her from looks to her music, she felt unaccepted and not wanted. When somone is telling you everything about you is not right this must discourage a lot of black female singers from even trying. Estelle left the UK at the right time and has never looked back but most up and coming black singers do not have the opportunity to go to New York. You do then have those that try and impress the white record bosses and resort in wearing ridiculas outfits such as VV Brown. I do not for one minute think that girl wants that pathetic fringe no black person can walk down the street with that thing on their forhead and expect to live. Its disgusting how they forced that girl to make that ice cream quiff of hers her trademark, I dont see it catching on but this is the price she pays to be a singer. The record bosses also do not understand her voice is soulfull it does not go with the rock songs they are giving her, she sounds odd and looks odd she should be herself and tell them to wear socks with sandals if they wish. Whatever happened to the likes of Neneh Cherry she had so much attitude she doesnt seem the type to be told to wear one of the Queens guards hats, she has he rown style and rythem. We need more independant black female artists there is a world demand for the its just a shame there is no demand for them on their own home turf.

Why black people dont like giving money to charity

How many times have you seen a starving image of an African and turned the page turned a blind eye to their plight so what? They may be black but why should I donate they are not my relatives they speak a different language and have an accent. They aren’t from my hood so why should I care?


Now imagine a white person sees a picture of a starving European but lives in America this is what they will say 'oh my gosh my poor European descendants needs my help and I will donate ASAP'! That would be their answer.

Being of Ethiopian descendent I’m fully aware that giving is not in our culture we only donate money to needy relatives and the church who have millions of dollars of money, people think if they donate to the church they will go to heaven (selfish reasons again). This is why the Ethiopian famine happened those starving northerners were forgotten unless they had a relative in the town centre to help them, the nation including the government watched them starve they did not care. I am increasingly becoming frustrated that black people do not care when their people are starving and it’s always the white people to come to the rescue with a big save east, north, south Africa campaign why is this? I will list the possibilities:



1) Selfish: we could blame it on slavery but as far as I’m concerned there was no slavery in Ethiopia so that doesn’t count. They are quick to run to war and defend a barren dry land but when people are starving they turn a blind eye.



2) Clannish divided mentality why should I help those people they are not from my tribe they are not my relatives, when they think of each others as hostile enemies it’s easier to ignore them when they are in trouble and starving hence why no one will care.



3) I don’t know but there is a culture of bragging if you see the music videos like rap they only rap about one thing money yes they finally got money and everyone is jealous of them how many times do we have to hear this!. Here are a few lyrics rappers re-cycle over and over again.

4) There is always a culture of jealousy and hostility in all black communities maybe I am generalizing but there is a lot of hating they don’t want you to do better than them so if there are a lots of starving Africans subconsciously they’re probably thinking ‘oh I’m doing better than them at least who knows in some weird psycho way (I’m trying to be clever here) It’s better to state the obvious than pretend it doesn’t exist in our community because it does. Black people generally live for themselves think to benefit them only and their children but not others from poorer backgrounds as they are competing with them in every way. Due to the lack of community and organized support there are more poorer black people in America and Africa because of the way they think.

The Donkey Library

The donkey library is a new initiative set up by Link Ethiopia to have a mobile library on a donkey or a mule to reach highland regions in Ethiopia where there are no roads. I think this is a wonderful idea and a great way of helping education in rural forgotten regions. These children do not have access to any means of books and resources they are virtually cut off and people should support this charity as education will help these children out of poverty.

The meaning of the new phrase Afro Centric

Afro centric is the word used to describe an intelligent black person who doesn’t believe what he is told to believe by the mainstream white society. These new phrase is used by western so called educated ‘the truth’ theories of established Ivy League anthropologists and historians. They paint the brush on all black anthropologists and historians as Afro Centric, because they refuse to follow a dated bias racist view of the world and history starting from evolution of mankind, eugenics to African history ancient and modern.
A lot of historians spend a lot of time and energy on Darwinism and evolving from monkeys and seem to have this view that Africans are the primitive of all humankind and are closer to animals. This is far from the truth Africans have the most underestimated culture in the world. As a result of peoples lack of knowledge of the continent historians end up writing a whole lot of thesis and books on people with a hint of falseness and bias. When these black educated historians challenge the views held about them they are called Afro centric and members of the Black Panther movement. Things are changing thanks to the internet and more of these so called black historians are getting a lot of support from people who are not happy with the general upheld view of black people and their history. I have actually heard of children challenging historians in school thanks to the internet they have a broader view of the world and are smart to not just believe what they are being told to believe, This is wonderful people are waking up not just black people even all races they are starting to challenge the upheld view of people of all cultures not just a couple of elite educated people from two universities of the world.

The fuss over Tiger Woods?

I still do not understand the fuss over Tiger Woods infidelity. Why is the media treating him as if hes the first man to ever cheat on a woman. Does him being black mean he has to be faithful because hes landed the ultimate prize a beautiful blond woman since becoming a golfing legend. David Beckham has always cheated on his wife and even smiles when Victoria is going through pain, yet the media never said a bad thing about David. Tiger Woods is being made to apologize and take time out to save his family apparantly, hes doing no different to what all those other athletes are doing yet because hes with a white woman and happens to be black its a crime.
 Its also obvious the court will be racist towards Tiger and make sure his wife takes the majorty of all his money. As much as I feel sorry for him I also do not, because black men like him who finally make it in the world only marry white women to fit into the world.. They choose to marry these women for the wrong reasons and the woman for one reason money ££$$, so when the woman decides to leave him she clears all his money backed with with the press's blessing. Marrying a white woman doesnt prevent you from escaping racism and sheltering behind her is not going to save you, those vultures are waiting for things to go wrong and then your wife will also become one of those vultures when lawyers and money is involved, lets face it you both come from different worlds anyway. All these black celebs who married white women all their marriage has ended with the athletes name in tatters, broke or in a loony bin.

Frank Brunu, his wife divorced him took all his money and he went mad and went to rehab

Chris Eubank; the biggest confused boxer ever who wanted to be an English gentleman, he would wear tweed in the summer as well as a grandfathers clock watch, after a reality show his wife was enjoying the limelight and decided she no longer wants him. The judge decided she keeps his houses, holiday homes and a lump sum of divorce money. No one knows where Chris Eubank is hiding now but to be honest who cares?

His wife divorced him on ground she was envious of him spending time in France where he is from with his friends. The judge concludes she gets atleast 7 million for 3 years of marriage,

Ashley is shaking in his boots he feel very insecure his wife is counting the days when to divorce him and take his money backed with the press's blessing lets face it it Ashley marrying the nations sweet heart doesnt mean anyone is going to love you, your still black and we live  in a racist society you married her for the wrong reasons and there is no love stop pretending.

Journalists are the most hated people in Ethiopia

It must be rather frustrating for the journalists of Ethiopia they have very limited topics to talk about incase it offends the rulling party who have a iron grip on the country in everyway from the economy to the choice of music thats played from their cars. Patriotic music is banned and superstar singer like Teddy Afro are thrown in prison and released to subdue him and join the oligarchy and stop giving free public uplifting conerts. Journalists are persecuted if their article has a hint of insulting the government in anyway, they must write articles that praise the governements work only and ignore the negative things around like the extreme hunger and poverty the sale children to every tourist who can buy one child get the sibling free. The jouranlists are banned from reporting the high number of Ethiopian maids murdered or comitting suicide due to inhumane working conditions in Arab countries. These women are routinely picked and promised work by government agencies that exports the women for a fee. So many Ethiopian private magazines are closing down because of a word or an article or a picture of the lion judah, its becoming hard for them to ignore the lack of freedom of speech and freedom to support another political party so they are the prisoners of all because they are being told what to write with a gun pointing at them. Journalists are good informers and keep politicians in check and in line they are the windows to what is going on the governement which politician bought a yatch using food aid money. In England is a country which respects journalists. Politicians of Ethiopia are the richest not only do they rule with mafia like behaviour, they also own lots of businesses. Private investors have no chance with government owned businesses. The government owned businesses create bogus laws such as taking away of land and rebuking licences, if they feel somonelse is a threat to them. They misuse the law and take advantage of their postition, journalists are forced to ignore these injustices and accept it. Most journalists are supporting local business ran by hard working members of the public, who are not pouring in bribery money or have soldiers to scare the competition. They operate in covert ways of informing the public in what is happening, their meanings have a double meaning like the ancient Ethiopian tradition of sem ena work which means wax and gold. However on the internet its a different story Ethiopian political refugees grill the ethiopian rulling party EPRF on banned websites that cannot be seen in Ethiopia. Webizines such as Nazret.online are great sources for current news on Ethiopia they are not propaganda based and the writers have no guns pointing at them. Office Parties and Dramas

Office politics is politics that happens as soon as you step into the office building past the very bored receptionist who doesnt do anything but stare at your new outfit or if it happened to have been a windy morning snigger at your messy hair which was neat before you left home.
In the office you have to behave a certain way, being emotional is not encouraged and is seen as a weakness unless your leaving to say goodbye. Office christmas parties are a continuation of work poltics however under the influence of alcohol it becomes very hard to keep up with the jones's. So it becomes a dragons pitt to see who falls on the floor first, who flirts and gets turned down but styles out. Its a glass house where one is very aware of their surroundings and is trying not to look desprate and awkward so, they will make some one else who gives them a chance make them look stupid and create a scene. I remember one christmas party I went to a couple of years ago, a very pretty naive girl decides to come to the christmas party lets call her Helen. Helen had on her nice cleavage showing top and let her long black silky hair down. Now none of the girls wanted to stand next to her so they ignored her, the problem with this girl is she doesnt know how to play office christmas party politics, she wanted some of the guys attention but didnt do it in a smart way she would be very loud and liked the attention the guys gave her. Now they wouldnt mind flirting with her alone, but when they spoke to her she made it a show and the guy involved didnt like that attention from the rest of the wall flowers, who were not happy this pretty flower was stealing their chance of getting a guy.  So the guy in the party realising his moves are causing a scene decides to step back and talk to the office ugly bitch who controls the show. Could she have turned ugly in that past hour? She goes through emotions and also backed by alcohol makes a scene. The office hunk decides to look for his coat on the pile of stacked coats and accidentley drops Helens clutch bag on the floor. As it fell the bag opened  and the contents fell out, of which was  her pink lip gloss a tampon and her sparkly pink blackberry. Now Helen realises her sacred pink possesions where on the floor for the preying eyes to see, panicks and rushes to the floor when she realises it was the office hunk who threw the bag she yelps my bag! Thinking he will rush to pick up her items he simply says 'im sorry it fell off by mistake.' Now Helen already was feeling upset at the whole night and just bursts out crying. Now the office hunk, panics as all eyes turn on him as Helen cries her eyes out from a distance it looks like a lovers tiff oh and Helen did cry him a river. The girls ran to Helen and comfort her. What happened? they ask, she couldnt speak as she was wailing and gulping, you wouldnt think it was because her bag fell on the floor. The office hunk is seen as the villain, he panics and says 'I havent done anything all I said was it was a mistake that her bag fell, Im not apologizing! He gets even more frustrated with every crocodile tear she cries, the office party becomes a scene from the Bold and the Beautiful with a damsell in distress and villain in the side line huffing and puffing.

Are Black Women Slaves To Their Hair?

Some angry black woman had a right old rant on News week online website yesterday about Zahara Pitt's hair being unruly and a 'hot mess'. She said how Angie had no idea how to handle black hair and when Zarah looks at her pictures when she is older, she will feel neglected. Just who does this woman think she is insulting a 4 year olds hair because it is not relaxed? Zahara has lovely curly hair that most mixed raced children and most Ethiopians have. It does not require perming or hot combing it is soft. Is she envious and wishes she had the 4 year olds hair? As she sounds very bitter and darn rude. Its a fact a lot of black women are slaves of their hair they spend every minute weaving perming going through hours at the hair dressers, to disguise its natural texture, its like they have a fear or a denial of it. Its so sad that they put their young daughters through hours of agony and dunking of hair grease and perming and relaxing at such a young age. No wonder why when they reach 20 they hardly have any hair left and resort to weave. Tell me what is wrong with natural kinks and curls what God intended you to have? What is wrong with rocking a natural fro? Didn't India Arie say I am not my hair so how come a large population of black women have become that a walking hair?. Ive heard stories how black women have put weave before food most of their pay cheque goes on their hair, an over styled heap of dead woman's hair or synthetic hair from Korea.
I actually have long curly hair but like Zahara hated it being over styled as I have a sensitive head, so would have lose pony tails and would have a curly fro just like her when I was a toddler. If only these people researched a little bit more and read history they will know that all this hostility resulted because of white colonialists creating hostility and war so they can rule the land and steal African resource's. The Italians have done it and the Russians have done it too. The Russians are the biggest hoovers of them all, while Ethiopia and Somalia where at war in the eighties they were busy taking all the gold in the country. Africans have always been receptive of foreigners coming in bringing their ideologies changing their religions from paganism to Jesuits to Muslim to Catholics and to extreme islamists like al queida to fascism to socialism and every darn ism's in the whole world. When are they finally going to stand up and say, no I will not be your sheep, you are not my master, I will not kill my black brother. I don't want to follow your strange custom of chopping hands and marrying up to ten wives; or grow a beard and smoke weed. Ethiopian influence on Arabia before Islam

Ethiopia and Arabia had pleanty of history before Islam and there is historical evidence that the ancient Ethiopians introduced christianity in Yemen and Saudia Arabia. There was also a large settlement of Ethiopians living in Arabia. Everybody has this idea that it was the ancient Arabs who moved to Ethiopia to create the Axum empire when it was the other way round. The Ethiopians came from the highlands and migrated to Arabia for trade and war purposes. What makes this also interesting is Ethiopia was christian before most of the world so a missionary didnt come on the basis to save an unbeliever nomads life. The king embraced Christianity changing the state religion to christianity and was so touched he tried to bring it to the middle east, imagine a black missionary they must have been miffed? (an ancient toga wearing one) At this time the only people that were christian is the people of the ancient world around Nubia Egypt Syria and in Rome. The ancient Ethiopians had an established empire and that stretched from the whole of the horn of Africa till halve of Egypt and India. Yet the world historians are adament to destroy history and associate anyone who is dark brown and from Africa with slavery. It just shows how the western world is not willing to accept the truth. Any free standing statues that are clearly in Africa are explained to have been built by invaders sometimes aliens as Africans are not capable of building such sophisticated sculptures, they live the simple life of throwing spears at rabbits and running away from lions. Its even sad when people that are not african such as Arabs take credit for such manual invloved tasks as building pyramids and of stocky men with broad noses. When I saw the frankinsence trail on the BBC the presenter went to Najran where the famouse Ethiopian and Persian battle took place. I even spotted old GEEZ writing on the walls and was amazed to find the inscription still there which proves the Ethiopians had lived there she did however mention the massacre of 20.000 Ethiopian christians but did not mention that they were Ethiopian nor did she mention that the Ethiopian Emperor at the time was so horrified he got a large army of Ethiopians and Nubians soldiers under Abraha and defeated the persians jewish Himyarits that did this and controlled Yemen and Saudi for 70years before they got ousted back into the highlands after the rise of Islam. The presenter made no mention of the fact there was ancient amharic on the bloody rocks and the ignorant guide would not even mention it. I also heard to this day that in Najran Christians still live there and it is a holy city because of the Ethiopians.

Ancient Ethiopian Invasion of Southern Arabia

About one century before the birth of Islam, Abyssinia played a significant role in the region of Arabia, more influencing than that of the other neighbours. Two centuries before Islam, namely at the end of the fourth century A.D., the king of Yemen embraced Judaism, and thereby Judaism became the state religion of that land. Then a man named Dhunuvas in Yemen decided to put pressure upon everyone who did not follow the Jewish faith. Then reports reached him that in Najran, a city in neighbouring Hejaz Christianity was spreading. Dhunuvas launched a campaign against Najran, and started persecuting and killing people. He had trenches filled with fire and cast the Christians of Najran into those. One of the Christians of Najran fled to the court of the Roman emperor, and said to him "You call yourself the emperor of Christians, see what are they doing to us Christians there." The Emperor answered that he was too far from that land, but "We have a coreligionist in the Emperor of Abyssinia to whom I will write to come to your assistance." This incident has been recorded in Islamic as well as European sources in an identical manner. The Emperor of Abyssinia dispatched an army to Yemen under a commander named Eryat. among whose officers was a man called Abraha. The army entered Yemen and Dhunuvas was defeated, who in his flight jumped into the sea with his horse and met his end. In this way Yemen became a colony of Abyssinia, and Eryat. its governor. They tried to propagate Christianity in Yemen which led to an incident between Eryat. and Abraha which we will proceed to recount in the following.
d) The Story of Abraha
Abraha was a competent officer in Eryat's army who did not think much of his commander, and so he decided to wrest power from him, and with the aid of his subordinates rose against Eryat.
The Abyssinians got divided into two groups: one group supported Abraha, while the other favourcd Eryat, and got ready to fight. On the day of battle Abraha sent a message for Eryat, saying that it was futile for the Abyssinians to kill each other, and added: "As the dispute is between you and me, let the two of us have a man-to-man fight, and let the victor take the command of the army " Eryat w agreed and in the fight he was killed and Abraha took the reins of power in his hands. Negus, emperor of Abyssinia, was enraged on hearing that the second in command has killed his appointed supreme commander, and swore that he would not rest until he had trampled upon the soil of Yemen and pulled off the hairs of Abraha.
The report reached Abraha that the Emperor was greatly annoyed with him. He filled a box with the soil of Yemen and ordered the hair of his head be shaved off and sent it to the Emperor along with a number of gifts and presents. He sent an accompanying message that he was sorry that the Emperor had become annoyed with him whereas he remained his loyal servant. He added that two of the Emperor's officers had a fight and one overcame the other and that the honour of the Emperor was in no way involved. He appealed that in order to honour the Emperor's oath, he was sending both his hairs and Yemeni soil for. the Emperor to trample on. The emperor was so pleased at this cleverness that he confrrmed him in his appointment as commander in Yemen, and Abraha proceeded to impose Christianity upon the people.[68]
He decided to spread Christianity in Yemen and uproot Judaism and every other faith in the land. Abraha's close associates told him that all his efforts were just confined to Yemen whereas the people of the Arabian peninsula were devoted to another place, namely the Kaaba in Mecca, owing to its age old standing and high prestige and that he should take steps in that direction. Incidentally Abraha had built a very fine church in the capital of Yemen and has adorned it with the most beautiful stones, including the stones remaining from the ancient palace of the Queen of Shiba. But when he noticed that his beautiful church had little attraction for the people against the simple stone structure in Mecca, he decided to do whatever possible to end the influence of the Ka'aba.
e) The Event of Aam-ul-Feel
Meanwhile a rumour spread among the people that Abraha had decided to demolish the Ka'aba. This caused a commotion among certain Arab people, and one Arab, hearing of Abraha's intention, went to Yemen, entered the church at night and polluted it with- his urine. This incident enraged Abraha and the Christians. They told him that, that was how much the Arabs respected his Church! Abraha asked what was the reason for that? They replied because they were devoted to Ka'aba in their heart of hearts and the news that you intended to destroy the Ka'aba had reached them. Abraha said that if that was the way it was, when it was no more than a rumour, then he was decided to destroy Ka'aba. He mobilised his forces and proceeded towards Mecca, and on his way vanquished all the Arab tribes that offered any resistance. On approaching Mecca he sent a messenger to find out whoever was the chief of Mecca and to summon him. He was informed that the chief of Mecca was an old man named Abdul-Mutallib. But before he could be contacted, Abraha's soldiers plundered all the sheep, cows and camels around Mecca including two hundred camels belonging to Abdul-Mutallib. After consulting his friends Abdul-Mut.allib decided to pay a visit to Abraha. The latter arranged a formal audience, sitting upon a throne and surrounded by his officers. It is said that when Abdul-Mutallib entered, Abraha was so impressed by his dignity and bearing that he descended from his throne, sat down on a mattress and asked Abdul-Mutallib to sit beside him. This dignified carriage is what the historians call the radiance of prophethood in the bodies of the prophet's ancestors.
Abraha said to him: "I have no issue with the people of Mecca. I have only come to destroy the Ka'aba, and if you do not confront me, I will carry out this task and turn back, without shedding any blood." Abdul-Mutallib advised him against his intention, but he refused to change his mind. Abdul-Mutallib then asked him why had he been summoned there, Abraha said that he had come to see him, did he want anything of him. He had thought that Abdul-Mut.allib might come up with some bargaining to save Ka'aba. Abdul-Mutallib said that he had no request to make except to demand the return of his two hundred camels which had been seized. Abraha expressed surprise at this trifling request, and said that he had expected him to intercede for the city and its people and Ka'aba. Abdul-Mutallib answered the reason why he did not intercede for the Ka'aba was that he realised that the people of Mecca had no power to resist Abraha's forces, and Ka'aba had its owner who is Allah and He would take care of His own house. Abraha was moved at these words, but he felt that he had come to carry out a mission. So he ordered the return of Abdul-Mutallib's camels to him, and warned the people of Mecca to evacuate the city and take refuge in the neighbouring hills. The people evacuated the city at once to prevent the loss of life, and Abraha prepared to demolish the Ka'aba with the aid of his army and the elephants which he had brought with him. This story has been narrated differently by Arab and European historians. The Greek and European version is that an epidemic of typhoid and smallpox at that time so annihilated Abraha's army that they could not carry out the attack. But the Islamic historian's version which is based on the Qur'an and what eye-witnesses had reported, is, according to the Arab captives in Abraha's army, that a vast flock of small birds like swallows, carrying pebbles in their beaks darkened the sky and pelted them down upon the heads of Abraha's army causing deep puncture-like wounds killing many It is also said that at the same time for the first time in Arabia, the diseases of typhoid and smallpox appeared in Arabia affecting the whole army. Abraha himself suffered from smallpox, and remained alive only until he reached Yemen and died there. This is the theme mentioned in the holy Qur'an, Chapter 105 'Feel' (Elephant) as follows:
"Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with the possessors of the elephant? Did He not cause their war to end in confusion, and send down (to prey) upon them birds in flocks, casting stones of baked clay, so He rendered them like straw eaten up?"
There is a perfect harmony between what the Greek historian who is the original source of European version, and Islamic historians who have narrated this episode except that the Greek historian makes no mention of the birds. It needs no emphasis however, that the report of eye-witnesses would be far more reliable than the narration of a historian sitting hundreds of miles away from the scene of occurrence and above all the text of the holy Qur'an itself leaves no room for doubt.
Anyhow, Abraha and his Abyssinian army returned to Yemen, and this part of Arabia, namely Mecca and Medina, remained as before.[69] But despite the strained relations between the Abyssinian government and the people of Mecca and Medina, trade relations continued between them until the birth of Islam.

Supermodel Liya Kebede in 'Desert Flower'

Supermodel Liya Kebede has starred in a new film which premiers this month called Desert Flower' Its based on the best seller book about the Somalian super model Waris Dirie's life in war torn Somalia and her FGM that she went through and her rise into a Supermodel status. She talks about the painful ritual of FGM which is practised in Somalia heavily and most Moslem countries around Africa. Liya Kebede is actually a good actress and she suprised me I've never heard her speak and I am looking forward to her starring in more films. This film highlights the backward custom of FGM and will hopefully raise awareness stop such a practice that has been passed on generations in rural African countries. People should not look at the film with an ignorant judgement and it doesnt mean everyone in africa has gone through this but it does happen and more work should be done to stop it.

Are Ethiopian girls hard to date openly?

There seems to be a lot of interest in trying to date other nationalities as we are becoming a more globalised world where nothing is out of reach anymore a lot of men especially African American and generally other nationalities cannot understand why East Africans stick to their own and only date people from their own country. Actually I will rephrase my answer they date other nationalities but always marry their own people. I understand a lot of African Americans and black British do not understand such blatant racism here is the biggest response to this at the end of the day whites will all group us as black anyway so why cant you all just date one another. People do not understand that Africa is not a Continent were black people with not much clothes on live in harmony mixing together. To the outsider they look the same eat the same food and dance the same so whats the difference. The answer couldn't be any different. African society is the most complex society dating centuries to the first man there are historical tribes that have lived side by side and can trace the original homeland country in Africa.

Tribalism

In an average african country there are at least say 50 tribes these tribes occasionally marry and mix together but its very rare and African society is composed on tribes and each tribes stick together and do all they can to preserve their own culture and identity and race. So and Angolan will not just marry any Angolan he/she will attempt to marry their own tribe. This whole attitude of Africans all looking the same and dividing up the Continent is what has continued to cause wars up until this day. East Africans are well known to be the most tribalistic of all people in Africa especially Ethiopians Somalians and Kenyans.

Now when I here why dont Ethiopians or East Africans marry other African countries or other races the whole tribalism and cultural upbringing of the young girl by her family is the reason why most choose not to date outside their race. They are conditioned to not to marry outside their own tribe let alone country. It doesn't matter if you have the same complexion as them they are tribalistic people and show allegiance to their ancestral home lands which their grandparents left generations ago. It may seem sad but that is the honest truth, there are lots of mixed raced marriages where I see a lot of Ethiopian women with white men or other races but it is hugely frowned on by the parents of the Ethiopian who accept it but would not necessarily have wished that for their son or daughter. I sort of feel sorry for mixed raced children as most who are half white generally could pass as white people therefore grow up accepting their white heritage more as they fit in more than their Ethiopian heritage. People are less willing to accept them as full bloodied Ethiopians, going back to the whole emphasis of tribalism and its influence, the term Kilis is used to refer to these people.
A friend of mine who is Kenyan hesitantly introduced her African American boyfriend to her relatives in America, after all he openly welcomed her into his families home and they were welcoming and lovely. She was so embarrassed when a concerned cousin asked him the most pathetic question of what do you think of hustlers? he didn't know what to answer and looked shocked. Since that day my friend does not want her family near him until they get married and even she doesn't want them at the wedding either and told me she might opt for a Las Vegas wedding.
There is no such thing as open dating in East African families this whole western culture of bringing the boyfriend or girlfriend in the family home is not accepted unless he decides to marry the daughter by bringing his best men and asking the elders of the family. Most African Americans or black British or other races feel offended when their East African girlfriend refuses to take her boyfriend to their parents house unless they wanted to be greeted with a black eye by the brothers and fathers of family; it just does not work and its a cultural thing that has been passed down. That does not mean Ethiopian girls don't date, they do indeed but they will not openly date and publish their relationship at every opportunity which is encouraged in western society.

King Menelik II the original durag wearing king

Proclaimed to be a descendant of the legendary Queen of Sheba and King Solomon, Menelik II was a dominant figure of his time in Africa and would be known as the King of Kings. He converted a group of independent kingdoms into the strong, stable empire known as the United States of Abyssinia, otherwise known as Ethiopia. His feat of pulling together several kingdoms, which often fiercely opposed each other, earned him a place as one of the great statesmen of African history. His further accomplishments in bringing Ethiopia into the twentieth century, coupled with his stunning victory over Italy in the 1896 Battle of Adwa, in their attempt to invade his country, placed him among the great leaders of world history and maintained his country's independence until 1935.
Menelik II was Emperor of Ethiopia from 1889 until his death in 1913. He was originally ras or ruler of Shoa in central Ethiopia. After the death in 1868 of Emperor Tewodros II, Menelik, with Italian support, gained steady strength. He seized the throne after Emperor Johannes IV died. In 1889, Menelik concluded the Treaty of Uccialli with Italy. However, when he learned that the Italian version of the treaty was different from his amharic version, essentially making Ethiopia a protectorate of Italy, he denounced the agreement. The Italian invasion that followed in 1895–96 was crushed by Menelik’s great victory near Adwa with great assistance from his wife Empress Taitu. Italy was forced to renounce all claim to Ethiopia and to pay an indemnity. Menelik took important steps to strengthen and modernize his domain. He made Addis Ababa his capital, constructed a railroad, attempted to end the slave trade, and curbed the feudal nobility. His conquests doubled the size of the country and brought the present day southern Ethiopia, which was largely Muslim, into the realm. Gradually his health failed, and the end of his reign was marked by intrigue and maneuvering for the succession due to his lack of a living male heir. He was succeeded as emperor by his grandson Lij Yasu.
It is interesting to note that a young man who in 1911 married Menelik's daughter Wayzaro Menen, was now working his way up in the ranks and would later become Ethiopia's last emperor, Haile Salassie.
